Last day of waiting

Today was the last day of our 10 day waiting period, so now all the waiting is over.  Thank goodness!  Whew, that was tiring.  What?  Oh yeah, we still have all that stuff I mentioned yesterday.

We went to see the kids today.  No little girl back yet.  She's ours tomorrow after we get the court decree, so I'm all for storming off to the hospital, and demanding to know what's going on, and demanding that they let us see her!  David's being the calm one, and he's insisting that we wait until Monday, since nothing much happens on the weekends in government here--just like at home.  If you're a ward of the government, I guess not much happens in your life over the weekend.

The little man was very irritable from the beginning.  He was mad that I tried to hold him, threw tantrums and fell on the floor when we tried to play with him.  He finally settled down a bit, and then several ladies came out of the playroom and struck up a conversation with us.  Turns out they were from a university in Australia, and were physical therapy students, and had been working with him for quite some time this morning.  No wonder he was so crabby.
"She just won't leave me alone!"

"Yes, you stay over there, and I'll play over here..."

"When are people going to quit bugging me?"
We spent some time outside with the big girl. Lots of fun to watch her, and listen to her talking to us.
"This is fun walking on this bench!  I'm not sure I'm supposed to be up here!"

"Let me out of here!"

"Do you think a wicked witch lives here in this little cottage in the woods?  Daddy will keep me safe!"

  1. So much for the 10 day BONDING that is supposed to take place while you wait! Good grief - good thing you were adopting THREE because how boring would that be to have her in a place you can't visit. I'd be knocking the doors down if I were you... Rob would be telling me to wait... LOL!

    Yeah - officially yours!
